London Zoo recently paid me to do redesign their entrance. I was shocked
how dull most zoo entrances are today, considering some of the fabulous
designs in the past. I’m particularly keen on Hagenback’s entrance to
Hamburg zoo, from the late 19th century.
London zoo is strapped for cash at the moment, mainly
because of the last cold winter rather then the recession, so my proposal
is much more modest than Hagenback’s. This is the model I made, I’d
particularly like to build the giant zoo sign.
The zoo just decided they can’t afford it at the
moment, so it now needs a wealthy benefactor!
