Every workshop is different. People use different materials, work on different scales and
develop their own ‘library’ of techniques. So don’t copy my layout
slavishly. But I do love my workshop, and I enjoy improving it. I’ve
now worked in it for over 30 years so I hope the image may help you plan
or modify your own workshop. (Apologies to people in America who call
workshops ‘shops’, I can’t quite get used to the term.)
PS
My favourite materials are mild steel, delrin and plywood. My natural
scale is not too small to be fiddly and not too large to be awkward to
handle. I can’t briefly describe my ‘library’ of techniques, its
just a cumulative set of everything that turned out well – though its
still always more exciting trying something new. |
