My stepdaughter got married in the autumn and had the reception at our house. The pier had recently given me an old crane machine, so I got it working and modified the claws so they would pick up bottles of lager.

To stop the game being frustrating, I had to make it dispense bottles frequently. This was more difficult than I was expecting - the solonoids that close the claws are only just strong enough to grip the weight of a bottle. It did work in the end, modifying the claws and using foam collars round the necks of the bottles for the claws to grip.
