BARBIE'S BONFIRE
An Emergency Exit Arts bonfire and fireworks show, November 1995.
The show was on Blackheath (a wonderful open space in south East London which used to have a windmill).

The show was great fun to work on, though only a fraction of the 20,000 audience saw much of the windmill. Unfortunately the ground sloped away from the stage and only the front few rows could see us – even though the living room was twenty foot off the ground.

THE WINDMILL
The 'wind' is spouting fire to start the windmill going. The sails formed a giant catherine wheel. Note the rocket powered pets below the telegraph poles.

The windmill opened out during the 10 minute show to reveal a tiny living room with me and Andy Plant dressed as Barbie and Ken. We fed the rocket propelled pets, which shot in from the sides, and then everything caught fire, including the working TV set.

STOCKTON STREET FESTIVAL  1996
An Andy Plant performance in which the TV sets whirled round, showing  a variety of odd adverts put together by Gary Alexander (most memorably swopping the sound of dog food and shampoo ads). The TV sets then rise to the top and drop, still working, to the ground, while everything else catches fire and explodes.

My main contribution was creating the bulging load on the mini's roofrack - which all exploded during the show
