TABLEAU OF THE FIRST BROADCAST 1994
A commission from Chelmsfords industrial museum
(the engine house) to produce a full size model of Britains first radio broadcast,
which came from a Marconi company hut in 1921. Radio was already in use, but solely for
one to one communication, particularly from ship to shore. Broadcasting was started by
enthusiastic amateurs like these Marconi employees. |

I enjoyed making the figures but feel a bit
embarrassed when I visit them as they look like something out of a museum of the 60s or
70s though maybe thats not a bad thing.
