TV   AND  THEATRE  PROPS

.
THE PUNISHMENT MACHINE 1984
Rex Garrod and I made this contraption for a TV show that never happened (though we got paid). It was based on a prototype industrial lawnmower with a hydrostatic drive. We added the rams to power the hammer and the high chair and some aircraft engine parts for decoration.
We sold it to Emergency Exit arts who used it in many theatre shows.

BARBIE CANNON 2004
A cannon to fire Barbie dolls for a Launchpad explainer show at the London Science Museum

Load polythene foam 'wad' and then load Barbie

Squirt in cigarette lighter gas for half a second, then insert piezo gas lighter in top of barrel

Press lighter to ignite gas.
Barbie can travel up to 50 ft. Range is reduced by pushing wad further down barrel to limit volume of oxygen reacting with the lighter gas (see screw 'stops' for wad along top of barrel).

JACK FROST 1987
Built with David Clough and Alice king for Welfare State International. The aluminium, from old litho printing plates, is all held together with fast fuse. He completely auto-destructed in the show, rather upstaging the intended narrative.
