WOODEN ANIMALS
These animals were mostly made as presents for friends and family. I borrowed
them back for a show at the Crafts Council gallery in 1979 called Press View.

The tusks are the dials of the combination lock - only when they are rotated to the right
position will the head open. To stop anyone carrying the whole animal off, I put a
microswitch in one of its legs and loud alarm inside, powered by a car battery. Somehow
the battery spilt and there's been a hole in Simon's carpet ever since.
